In this project, we found two piano trios, which have been used in well-known films and series. The program includes Schubert’s Piano Trio No.2 (1827), Op. 100 in E-flat Major and Ravel’s Piano Trio (1914). The second movement in Schubert’s piano trio no.2 is well known from Stanley Kubrick’s film Barry Lyndon in 1975. It has also been used in many other films and series, includes the film La Pianiste directed by Michael Haneke in 2001 and episodes of American Crime Story and The good wife. Ravel’s piano trio, on the other hand, the first movement was extensively used in the French movie The heart in winter by directed Claude Sautet in 1992. The third movement appeared in the black comedy movie Birdman in 2014. This program has been performed in two concerts in July in Vega.
